UNNAMED YSL DEFENDANT ACCUSED OF SMUGGLING WEED INTO JAIL

According to a series of tweets from Jozef Papp, Court Judge Ural Glanville has announced that there will be an investigation after someone brought clothing for one of the YSL’s defendants with contraband (marijuana) in the shoes.

Judge Glanville was said to have paused the jury selection process for Young Thug‘s trial on Friday the 13th of January to inform attorneys of issues pertaining to the rapper’s co-defendants. Glanville said one of the defendants refused to cooperate this morning (taking a shower and getting dressed) and also other defendants were causing problems during transport.

However, the reporter did not indicate how the investigation would impact the jury selection process.

Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, was arrested in Atlanta back in May 2022 and was charged with criminal activity which includes violating Georgia’s RICO act, aggravated assault, theft, drug possession, participating in street gang activity, murder, and so much more.

To date, close to 600 Fulton County residents have been summoned for jury selection. As part of the selection process, potential jurors were asked to fill out a 250 questionnaire which includes general questions about people’s opinions on physical appearance, like “Do you have an opinion about a person who has head and neck tattoos?” or “Do you have an opinion about a person who has dreadlocks or tattoos?” and also specific questions about YSL, including whether participants have heard of the label or the gang, whether they’ve attended a YSL concert, or know anyone who wears “Slime Life” clothing.

These questionnaires were geared at helping attorneys on both sides determine whether the potential juror would be qualified to participate in the trial. If chosen, the juries will be tasked with deciding the fate of Young Thug along with his 13 YSL co-defendants.

Jury selection in Young Thug’s trial is expected to last five to six weeks, while the trial itself could go on for up to a year.
